Russia is going to have a tough go at rebuilding their military. I say let them do it. They need to be bankrupted again.

I would not go that far, Russia now supplies most of the EU with oil.

Also since Russia nationalized a couple of Big Oil companies (taking lesson from Venezuela) they have been able to secure a bigger market share for "Mother Russia"...

Also with their push into the Artic, you can see that Black Gold will be the cause of WWIII.

Lock and load people. That's all the Russians respect, force.

uh.. Russia isn't a part of NATO, their the reason FOR NATO.

Putin said he wanted to restart the cold war and this is another step on the way.

You're right, but NATO and Russia share a common goal. NATO and Russia have agreed on an initial, specific workplan, which includes projects in the following areas:

Assessment of the terrorist threat
Crisis management
Non-proliferation
Arms Control and Confidence-Building Measures
Theater Missile Defense
Search and Rescue at Sea
Military-to-Military Cooperation
Defense Reform
Civil Emergencies
New Threats and Challenges (including scientific cooperation and airspace management)

Now that is tossed out the window.

Putin will be dead soon. Someone will take page out of Vladimir Ilich Ramirez Sanchez book and plant on in Putin's skull. It's just a matter of time, and money.

I am sorry to say this but Russia is such a warmongering nation, as soon as they start getting some cash and a economy boost. It goes straight into there military, and they start trash talking everybody and threatening everybody. Goes through-out Russia's history. When they are bankrupt, due to them biting off more then they can chew. They stay out of everybody's way unti'll they earn back there economy and they are back trash talking, and threatening and biting off way more then they can chew.

Just let them beef up there military, put a little paint over the rust covered military and let them keep pissing off the entire world one bit at a time.

Sooner or later, they are going to start something else that they will regret later.
I mean, they never learn that mouthing off countries, threatening them, and showing attitude to the rest does not work just because you have a stronger economy then before and are using it to beef your military.

The only threat Russia poses is if they are stupid enough to use there nuclear warheads, because if they are that crazy and stupid. There goes the entire world. Over what? Russia's ego?. They equiped nuclear warheads on there jets, tanks, whatever they can equip them on, they equiped them. U.S. has them setup in subs, in bases, etc. Pakistan has theres, everybody has theres setup. I will honestly say, it's been nice knowing you world.

That is of course a exaderation, we have come so close to nuclear wars in the past. So very close. They got stopped at the last minute, actually last second but that isn't going to last forever. One of these days, we are going to come so close to another one and nobody is going to have the sense to stop that one. I am betting its soon.

Sooner or later they will arm Iran, and you know the expression; "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

I think Russia will use the terrorist to help them. It is a new world order, and terrorism is the new weapon on choice, cheap and effective.

The Russians will use the terrorists and then they'll turn on them. Beslan is still a festering wound for them, while this new resurgent Russia has elements of the old Soviet Union, the Russian Orthodox Church plays a large role in the new Russian society/nationalism.

The only upside I see to a resurgent Russia is that they will then serve to protect (?) Europe from an eventual islamic takeover. Or perhaps Russia will let the muslims destroy Europe first and then move in to take over.

So much paranoia.
