Defence Minister Peter MacKay has forcefully rejected a Senate analysis that says the Conservative government's defence plan won't deliver real spending increases to the military.

    Why doesn't Senator Kenny tell us what the Liberal plans are for the Canadian Forces (and not what he personally would like to see).

    Has Dion even taken the time to forget about his precious Green Shift for five minutes and consider defence policy?

    It's funny. When the Liberals increased defence spending after 9/11 by 1.5% a year, they were called cheapskates. Yet, when the Conservatives do the exact same thing, they are saviours of the CF.

    Go figure...

    I think this article just goes to show that the Conservatives need to get their shit together if they want to stay in office. With tax cuts and a deficit, they need to start to spend smart and make sure their policies are in line with their finances and the economy; or there soon might be a liberal government after all.
