OTTAWA -- A Montreal court may be about to make Canadian legal history in a case that could see offenders considered guilty until proved innocent.

    Must be good for us...the way the defense lawyers and
    law professors are whining, it HAS to be good for the public.

    Funny the don't mention the length of the criminal records that got those thugs to where they are now.

    It was only a matter of time that the "reverse onus" would be challenged. The sad part is it can actually be struck down when you really look at the written statute.
    I must give harper credit, it was a good law passed in order to prevent or slightly disrupt criminal behavior, however it probably won't stand, maybe the judge will give parliament a chance to modify it in accordance with the charter.
