A Calgary couple claims they were beaten up by several bouncers outside a downtown bar last week. "I'm 120 pounds. I could have easily been restrained," Laura Rumboldt told CBC News, adding that she and husband Patrick Tomren were punched and kicked

Again, No surprises here, this is on eof the reasons I don't frequent the bar scene, I have seen innocent people hurt by misled bouncers. The other reson is I don't like getting stabbed or shot at.

Christ!! The Calgary Police are investigating. LOL That means absolutely nothing will be accomplished or done.

Personally they should gather witness staments and sue the piss out of the owners of the bar and the bouncers involved.

AS someone familiar with the bouncer scene (twenty years ago anyways), all I can say is "good luck." The victims of bouncers are usualyl intoxicated.. The minute you admit that you've been drinking, your credibility goes out the window. Plus the cops know the reality of the situation--enfocing the law in bars isn't pretty, and so they usually give bouncers the benefit of the doubt in an investigation.

My roomates used to bounce a really rough joint in the 'Peg--they were big boys. (I was the default bouncer at my bar by virtue of being the bartender and only male workgin on the premises.) There was another bar, in a nicer part of town, where the bouncers were getting a reputation for beating up patrons wiht little provocation, culminating in a flyweight 20-year-old girl getting her arm busted. All the bouncers from the rough bar went over the next weekend (I tagged along) and we deliberatly aggravated those bouncers until they had no choice but to throw us out. Then we tuned 'em good. Too good. I had cop dogs chasing me that night. Good times.
