The Canadian military is in a domestic "war for talent" as it attempts to boost its ranks, the country's top soldier said Friday.

"Hillier said the military has to find ways to train them quickly enough so they can be deployed to the various branches of the armed services."

I thought the CF was all about quality training, our first trainig mistake. Just train the quickly, then ship them out. Wow. Not only do we have a limited force over there, but we will soon have the addition of a lack of trained force.

His comment on quickly training was to merely speed up the process from recruiting centre to course loading. Far too many recruits get through St Jean and then spend weeks, if not months, waiting for trades training. Nowhere did he mean we were going to cut back on course content.
