    Indeed. Immigration of tropical peoples to colder climates may well have adverse impacts on them just as much as immigration of Eskimos to, say, Jamaica, may well have adverse effects on them. This is nothing that would have been considered years ago but now this issue obviously requires study. Also, Canada (and the US) should consider screening immigrants for these problems and do so for the safety and well being of the immigrants.

    hell my blood pressure was lower at home, as was an incidence of infection. I nick my toes with the nail clippers or tear a nail, I'm almost guaranteed of getting an infection here, no matter if I use alcohol or peroxide and polysporin.

    this news isnt new.. the stats for these groups of people have been like that since they started monitoring BPs.... it was statistical info when I first went into health care 25 yrs ago.. so doubt its Canada.. probably its the health care system.. I mean in Canada you would get BP done every time you go to the hospital or doctor.. so I would say they probably didnt know they had hypertension...
