Mission to Red Planet carries two devices that were built here
Canada's first mission to Mars is less than three weeks from its destination, with a package of instruments that will tell scientists about clouds, dust and weather on the Red Planet.
That they put a Canadian flag on the Pheonix to plant into Mars soil.
Just to leave a patriotic imprint, you know? Something for Canadians to have some pride in. Like America having their flag on the Moon.
If any flag gets planted it will be an American one. It's their mission, they just let us build a couple of components. You know what I wish...? That we would become a true space faring nation, and not have to constantly rely on the Americans to get us up there. We should look into developing our own launch capability. NASA might not be so willing to let us join their missions after the MDA sale got shot down.

We've got enough problems keeping the Canadian flag flying over all the provinces, let alone on foreign soil.
You know what I wish...?
