Defence Minister Peter MacKay is denying reports from Afghanistan that Canadian soldiers are reaching out to members of the Taliban in order to establish peace in the war-torn country.

Canadian troops are facing a resurgent Taliban, which is financing itself from poppy sales to the tune of $10 million a month. That's $1.2 billion a year, and increasing. What funding does Canada provide to our "adventure" in Afghanistan?
