The Liberals held two ridings in Toronto and one in Vancouver Monday night, but the Conservatives defeated Stephane Dion's hand-picked candidate in northern Saskatchewan.

Although it was a loss, it's still good news that Vancouver was that close to a Conservative win. I'd say this was a successful by-election.

No kidding...I never thought anything even close to Vancouver would turn Conservative...but hey, it was close, and if 152 more Conservatives got out and vote, we could have won..

Just more proof Harper and the conservatives have no where to grow. With all the negative things the Liberals have had stacked up against them, real or percieved, the Conservatives still can't pull ahead and still can't break into the large Canadian cities.

Yes Vancouver Quadra was close, but the Liberals didn't loose the votes to the conservatives, it was mostly to the Greens. The real ones in trouble are the NDP, I see there number of MP's going down in a general election and possibly some green Mp's in ottawa for the first time.

On another note, wtf is neorhino.ca party, never hard of that before.

It goes both ways now. Despite all the mud slinging the Liberals have done to the Conservatives; ie the cadman bribe, the so called NAFTA-gate, KYOTO, the Afghanistan war. The Conservatives still hold an 11 point lead on the Liberals. People are realizing the hidden agenda was a myth made up by the Liberal party.
