In the National Hockey League there are two sets of standards: one for the star players and one for everyone else.

As much as I think Simon as issues, he's right on that one - Campbell as been exposed as the hack he's always been... It was pretty clear to the majority of people who saw the second video that he clearly looked where he was about to put down his skate. I was actually surprise Kesler didn't get injured.

That has to be the most ridiculous situation - Pronger, the cheap shot artist, gets well rested before the playoffs. I"m sure Burke did a happy dance when the "sentence" came down.

Campbell is such a clown, he'll probably end up being the Leafs GM next year LOL!! ;)

Pronger should have sat more games, and its not because I'm still bitter ;)

Well like Bob McKenzie brought up tonight one of the reasons for Simons lengthy sit MAY have been the fact that he had only been back for 26 games from his 25 game suspension for lumberjacking Hollweg when he tried to help Ruutu remove his skate (with his foot still in it mind you  ) Sure would help Campbells case if he had stated it at the time...

I see what McKenzie is trying to get at here, but that's just pure cow manure (IMHO anyway  ). Pronger took aim at 2 different heads within a month in 2007 - how does Mckenzie's logic apply here? If McKenzie really believes what he's saying, Pronger should have gotten a much longer suspension when he tried to decapitate McAmmond last June. So does McKenzie's point only apply to non-star players? :P

At this point, I don't think Campbell's case could be help in any way. I say for next year, you get the guy in charge of punishment completely UNBIASED - meaning no kids of his playing in the league, no friendly relationship with ANYONE around the NHL and, most importantly, have half a brain when it comes to LOGIC :P

Oh dont get me wrong - I think Pronger SHOULD have gotten more than he did

See, great minds think alike ;) (I still think though that McKenzie's logic should also apply to last year's playoffs, you know, the decapitation and all :D )

Simon has anger issues and knows he's a dirty player (sometimes) - at least he can admit to that. Pronger needs to admit to as much IMO. Every time he does something stupid/reckless/dangerous, it's always after a bad play where he looks like a pee wee player.

Pronger should have been suspended for life after maybe his 5th suspension. There's a limit to ridicule.

And even if we disregard all past offenses, his attack on Kesler should at least have got him a suspension for the rest of the season + playoffs, or 35+ games overlapping the next season should the Ducks somehow miss the spring dance.
