I'm don't see the issue. If a sport doesn't meet the requirements to be an Olympic event, then it shouldn't be an event. This rule is applied equally to all sports, not just women's sports, so this isn't a discrimination issue.

It's incredibly dumb. There are a good number of woman ski jumpers. Moreover, there's woman's aerials which is rather similar so it doesn't make sense.

Let them jump. I love seeing the jumpers crash. Men or women, I don't care, crashing is fun to watch. More ski jumpers means more crashes.

It's not a matter of can it be an Olympic sport, of course it can. The real issue is that a sport has to have a broad enough worldwide appeal and skill level in order for it to become an Olympic event. If only five countries participate in women's ski jumping, and only one or two countries win gold then the sport is not developed enough to become a true Olympic event. This is why baseball is being dropped as an Olympic event and why women's hockey is also a potential candidate to be dropped. If these rules are not in place the Olympics would be full of flash-in-the-pan sports.
