While Toronto is facing a 20-year high murder rate and other Canadian cities such as Winnipeg and Montreal are plagued by homicides and gun violence, Quebec City is poised to turn the calendar on a murder-free year.

thats interesting cause other cities have had alot like toronto and some out west as well .

but actually the county/area i live in has not seen an murders either , so some areas haven't seen much crime this year and others the opposite it all depends on the city .

Actually, it probably has more to do with seperatism.

all the murderers from Quebec moved to Calgary. They were disappointed when they found out you had to work for a living out here, they chose the easy life of crime

And then you wonder why Canadians in a growing number are starting to despise Albertans for their arrogant, ignorant attitude towards the east.

And yet that is exactly how Quebec is viewed outside of the east. So not that I condone either one but neither party has room to bitch on this.

By the way, for Quebec City to have accomplished a murder free year is absolutely outstanding. It's gotta be more than the police, the schools, churches, social systems in place or the poutine and good wine. Something is being done right in that city.

Way to friggin go eh' PDT_Armataz_01_37

Wow, an urban centre with 800,000 people and no murders. I had no idea Quebec City was so safe. The mayors of other major cities should look to this city and examine what they are doing right. Congrats QC!!

I wonder if there are openings for homicide detectives in Quebec City, that sounds like a cushy job.
