.. wait, not warming.. just change.. radical change, like Katrina or Tsunami's.. and earthquakes too.
Landslides, and all those trees blowing down in Stanley Park, or the fires in California..
Birth defects, crime rates and cancelled concerts, slow busses and traffic...
All of this is you're fault because you drive a car.
"Elders always say that's God's way of testing us."
What's more, the alders, birches and willows that grow back over natural disturbances such as fires or thaw slumps - the incidence of which has doubled over the last 30 years - are growing as tall as four metres.
Isn't this a good thing? Don't we want more plants and trees? I'm just going to go lie on the floor and rock back and forth until the insanity passes me by.
Or the CBC type gal who reported the Inuit were seeing new critters.....Robins and Ladybugs....critters for which they had no names. Our man Ziggy in Meadowbrook, NWT, working on the NUNA road, made inquires of his inuit workmates who had names because these were not new but had always been there.
This article is just more alarmist BS......like the growing Greenland Ice Cap shrinking/melting.

If that isn't evidence of global warming then what is ????
When our grand children look back at the kind of attitude, we see on this board during this period in time toward global warming, they will legalize euthanasia
The stupidity on this board still surprise me. Hmm but I should be use to this by now

Do you mean man made global warming?
Because global warming is natural, just ask any geologist.Thats why we had ice ages, thats how coal seams were made.
I'm not saying the guys full of shit but if he's going to paint the whole arctic with one brush stroke then maybe he should get out and study the whole Arctic. So this shows he either has an agenda of some sort or some reason other then GW to fearmonger like this.
Radical environuts are harming the environment, ever hear the story of the little boy who cried wolf?

The problem with that statement is that just because the earth has gone through periods of hot and cold so to speak doesn't mean this current trend cannot be attributed to humans.
The earth was also a ball of volcanic rock without life at one point.
In addition, while it may be true that in previous times the earth was much warmer we have no idea what havoc that would reak on our modern landscape. There is no way to tell how normal conditions back then would affect our heavily populated and constructed civilization. For all we know there would have beed massive damage to human structured civilization had it been in existence.
We have seen time and time again that humanity can affect the natural equilibrium. Look at Australia. Its almost a mandatory sport to kill cane toads (ugly fucking critters) due to their ability to out compete (and eat) just about everything it encounters. Ditto rabbits, rats, and a few other introduced critters. Incidentily, Australia is a wonderful example supporting evolution due to its geological time period severence from the continental mass and subsequent isolation. But I digress.
I don't subscibe to doomsday scenarios for global warming. I do acknowledge beyond any doubt that the current trend is caused heavily if not entirely by humanity. To much evidence exists to support this and quite frankly those denying humanities involvement seem to be the equivalent of the 9/11-CIA conspiracy nuts.
The questions isn't that we are causing it. We are. The question is "what affect it will ultimately have" and "will the earth compensate for non-natural human pollution".
On a subsequent sidenote, it seems awfully disconcerting that the same people who are claiming that there is no actual global warming seem to be very quick to say that any warming is natural. (Bart, take note)
Which is it? If you think the current warming is perfectly natural then why do you dispute it?
It often sounds like their argument is:
1) There is no global warming.
2) If there is then its perfectly natural as the earth was warm before.
3) If its caused by humanity then it doesn't matter because nothing will happen.
4) If it destroys the planet we can always colonize other planets.
OK that last one is a projection but I think I made my point.
R=UP DerbyX, will you marry me?
If you can convert into a 5'8 redhead with a lithe figure and a provocative alluring gaze then I'll consider it.
Throw in beer and you got a deal.

I had a nice long response typed out and it dissapeared into the black hole a few minutes ago when the site went down. Oh well, maybe later.
