About 40 evacuation notices were delivered Saturday morning to people in a low-lying area of the city as officials examined a trail of slushy ice extending for six kilometres along the Nechako River.

    Three major sawmills are now under water. Anyone who wasn't already laid off is. People don't really like the town council here, now I can see why.

    They have flooding problems every year, either ice jamb or winter run off. Sometimes you could canoe on 1st ave almost to Queensway. Nobody seems to be proactive about a solution.

    Aside from moving the town, what else can they do? I doubt that a big wall would stop the flooding.
