unbeleivable.. what's next.. cant smoke in your own house ??.

This law was obviously written by a bunch of non-smokers who dont have the first idea about anything, and will be completely unenforcable..

great waste of taxpayers money here..

What exactly is the problem with this? Once a child enters your car you are forced to discontinue smoking. This is bad somehow?

Well, in Bridgewater there is a motion before Council to ban smoking outside. I'm sure after that it will be to ban smoking in the home.

I agree with LightStarr, not a bad idea at all.

With all we know about second hand smoke, there really is no excuse to intentionally expose kids to it.

Teachers in the schools could tell the kids that if Mom or Pop smokes in the car they should be reported to the authorities. :D

I know the maturity level of many teenagers leave much to be desired but an 18 year old is a child???

If you smoke and your 17 year old who is a dope smoking fiend is in the car with you while you smoke a cigarette you can still get fined $400???

I think the age limit should be 14 years old and give the non-smoking teen the opportunity to stand up for themselves. Those younger than 14 aren't able to do that and should be protected by this law.

Well, you are mature enough to drive and vote but not mature enough to protect yourself from secondhand smoke???

I think there are more young drivers dying in preventable car accidents at that age than are dying from the effects of secondhand smoke.

Studies commisioned by both the EPA and WHO failed to find any credible scientific evidence of unsafe levels in ETS. Like the IPCC both agencies dismissed scientific evidence and issued politically acceptable reports.

DDT was banned by the same process.

    Science versus hysteria.

What do "we know about it"? The political hysteria but or actual science?

The EPA's own safe limits for the nasty things in cigarrette snoke indicate the highest concentration would require 1000 cigarrettes to reach an unsafe level. What are you basing you notions on some hysterical fool who has no idea what an LD50 is?

You only know what the media has told you about second hand smoke. What, if any, harmful effects does it produce.

Whilst driving all the crap coming from car car exhausts is not harmful?

People need to get real and discover where all the so called pollution is coming from.

Hows about second hand car exhaust emissions.

I suppose you guys eat at fast food joints because you watch TV ads, listen to the media and it's good for you .

I was considering quitting smoking but then it occurred to me I would then be exposed to second hand smoke..............
