Karlheinz Schreiber is in the spotlight for money he gave former Tory prime minister Brian Mulroney, but when it comes to contributions to political parties, he appears to have given significantly more to the Liberal Party of Canada.

    This could turn out to be bad news for both the major parties, as the conservatives are so tied to lyn' brian. Then to find out this guy is so low he even donated to the liberals. This story could expose how these two parties as the same thing with opposing rhetoric

    I didn't realize the $300,000.00 was a donation. That certainly changes everything. :roll:

    The evolution of RRs argument:

    First Mulroney - Schreiber thread:

    "Its old news. Nobody cares. The Libs are desperate"

    RR digs up a loose Liberal connection.

    "Oh look. The Libs are corrupt because they dealt with him"

    Connection proves fruitless.

    "The Libs are just desperate"

    Public interest persists and the investigation heats up.

    "Schreibers a liar anyway so we can't trust anything he says"

    Schreiber donations revealed.

    "See, he donated once to the Liberals. That proves they are corrupt".

    Of course the fact that he donated once in '93 in order to garner the same sort of shady deals from Chretien but was soundly rebuked and didn't try again is lost on him.

    Funny how any Liberal connection to a crooked person reflected on the Liberals but the same standard doesn't apply when its the Cons.

    Elections Canada records show no other political contributions by Mr. Schreiber, Bear Head, International Aircraft Leasing, Reto's Restaurant Systems International or Retos Pasta Services, all of which list Mr. Schreiber as a director


    Wonder how much more is under the radar still?

    Mr. Schreiber himself gave the Tories five separate donations between 1987 and 1991, ranging from $1,000 to a high of $2,000 in 1988, the year Mr. Mulroney was returned to office


    One of Mr. Schreiber's companies, Bear Head Industries Ltd., made the single contribution to the Liberals -- $10,000 in 1993, the year Jean Chr�tien became prime minister. Industry Canada records show Mr. Schreiber as the only director of Bear Head, based in Port Hawkesbury, N.S.


    Elections Canada records show no other political contributions by Mr. Schreiber, Bear Head, International Aircraft Leasing, Reto's Restaurant Systems International or Retos Pasta Services, all of which list Mr. Schreiber as a director



    So what? It looks like he gave to both parties and onkly the Libs once and no more despite being head of a bunch of companies that could have benefitted.

    He isn't being investigated for political donations though.

    Uhuh! And if he really donated that $300,000. to the Cons why did Mulroney not give it to the party instead of keeping it for himself. I'd think the Cons would want his ass keel hauled.

    looks like schreiber has some explaining to do on this one , maybe actual inquiry should look into this not partisan committee .

    hehe, oh brother---guess what, he gave 20x more to Mulroney than either Political Party put together. Oh wait, that's what the controversy is about, isn't it? :roll:
