That's good news. Uganda is one of the very few countries in Africa that is working in the right direction. For example: By simply educating folks that they won't get it if they don't sleep around has reduced the spread of the desease.
I'm all for Canada helping countries that are helping themselves.

Amazing how much criticism Uganda has received for reducing HIV-AIDS infections merely by educating people to be monogamous or abstinent. Despite the quantifiable FACT that this has worked for Uganda we still hear the same bleating from certain quarters that this is backwards thinking.

Funny isn't it. Do they want a solution or more funding?
They don't bitch or have glitzy rock star shows for aid, they simply own the problem and take the nessesary steps.
I haven't heard much about it, but I'd bet their economy is better than the average too.

The Vatican has bitterly denounced Uganda's anti-AIDs programme because it also involves condoms.....

    Go figure..............

The Prime Minister and his minority government have been criticized for lack of attention to African countries ravaged by HIV-AIDS, drought, war and poverty.

Yes! The Harper government should also award contracts to LIBRANO insiders to do non-existant work and advertising. Such neglect!

its all a waste of time. theres no fucking hope anywhere on that continent. they go from the tribal circles to the halls of corruption and there the continent sits and will remain. We can throw billions at them its like giving an MR a calculator. good intentions sure, but insanely futile at best.

"As part of Canada's Millennium Development Goal obligations, Canada must provide at least 0.7 per cent of its gross national income for official development assistance by 2015. However, Dewar said Conservative budgets have reduced Canada's contributions to 0.31 per cent of GNI this year from 0.36 per cent in 2006."

fuck that i want to see it further reduced to at least .15 the balance being invested in high powered dildos to help calm the lesbians and womens rights groups. maybe we could use it to fix our subs?

DP critic Paul Dewar (Ottawa Centre) said by redirecting attention to the Americas, "Africa by default is being forgotten" at a time when Canada has the capital to help countries there.

and by redirecting our attention to africa. your ineptness and insignificance as a political party is being forgotten.

well till i read this and remembered

    screw africa
