Okay, I am the only one slightly worried about this?!

No you certainly are not the only one concerned.

There is really no such thing as a mine-proof vehicle----mine resistant perhaps.

An associate said he saw an MI Abrams hurled across a road by an IED----63 tons of tank.

If only there was a way to combine the mine problems in Afghanistan with the car theft problems here in Surrey....:-)

A loud bang, the acrid smell of explosives and a blinding cloud of dust indicated the Taliban had struck again - successfully.

Successfully? It's a goal of the Taliban to blow up equipment? I thought it was to inflict casualties.
I must have missed the press release. Anyhoo, the Husky did what it's supposed to do. I think that De Wolfe makes a good point:

The explosion was really strong," added De Wolfe, who noted the damaged vehicle had just moved in front of his RG-31 armoured vehicle.

"That one is repairable; this one would have been cut in two."
