    Unfuckingreal.

Police said the suspect fled the area, but he was found nearby and arrested. The 32-year-old man has "an extensive criminal history for violent offences," the Vancouver Police Department told CTV News Vancouver in an email. Investigators didn't identify the suspect, but described him as a "high-risk dangerous offender."

He was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July. Charges have not been formally laid, police said.

So he can continue assaulting people all he wants! Criminals before victims! I'm sure he has "issues" which excuse him so all is good in the 'hood.

I'm so sick of this bullshit.

We have a constitutional right to bail, but I agree that they need to restrict that for people who are already out on bail. You violated the conditions, bail revoked.

There is no mention in the article about bail being paid. He was just released with the usual "be a good boy now and show up in court".

That could be 'own recognizance" and is granted if the person isn't a flight risk. Which he wasn't. I'm saying what needs to matter is if he was already on bail for something else, and breached that bail with a new offence.

I'm never going to vote against a constitutional right. ;)

That is an issue with a court system that is saturated. Not enough judges and they have a duty to have these court dates processed as fast as possible or risk being thrown out. They are using short cuts to try to mitigate but that is only a stop gap.
