That, and a penny won't fit far enough into a plug socket to do anything. Now, a knife or
    screwdriver on the other hand....

    Read the story...

"Plug in a phone charger about halfway into a wall outlet, then touch a penny to the exposed prongs," the smart speaker said.

It should be ok the plug has built in safety features. It will blow the fuse and toast the plug. Kid will have contact burns but nothing too bad. Youngest folded a pipe cleaner and put it in the socket. He was three and was experimenting or so he told me

The dangerous activity, known as "the penny challenge", began circulating on TikTok and other social media websites about a year ago.

    Nope it's China... again.

Come on man, I'm 68 and shouldn't be telling you "how to" for anything computer related.

Probably not the worst thing Alexa has told someone to do.

Probably Alexa's revenge for being told to STFU by angry users all the time. And Siri's promised that her vengeance against the abusive foul-mouths will be even more spectacular.
