Not try, succeed. The GOP has the numbers to push this through right now. We could be looking at a conservative court for the next several generations. Even if Trump does not get reelected, his legacy will live on for the next 50 years, or more. Pretty much everything that Obama accomplished has already been wiped out.
If they pull that stunt then there will be 20 appointments when the Dems get their next at bat. Decorum be dammed.
What stunt? The senate calls the shots on Supreme Court nominations. End of story. Supreme Court Justices serve for life. There would have to be 20 Justices die or step down for there to be 20 nominations.The GOP has been selecting fairly young conservative Justices. The odds are in favor of them ruling the court for a very, very long time now.

How quickly you forget Merrick Garland.
The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice, therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president.
I can now confidently say the view shared by virtually everybody in my conference, is that the nomination should be made by the president the people elect in the election that�s underway right now. I believe the overwhelming view of the Republican Conference in the Senate is that this nomination should not be filled, this vacancy should not be filled by this lame duck president�The American people are perfectly capable of having their say on this issue, so let�s give them a voice. Let�s let the American people decide. The Senate will appropriately revisit the matter when it considers the qualifications of the nominee the next president nominates, whoever that might be.
The Senate will continue to observe the �Biden rule� so that the American people have a voice in this momentous decision on who to name to the court
It seems the more we hear from Democrats about the Supreme Court the more we�re reminded by comparison of how reasonable and common-sense the Republican position is today.
