The asteroid is about four times the size of the CN Tower and is travelling at more than 30,000 kilometres per hour.

    He's better off hoping that NASA made a mistake on their calculations for 99942 Apophis in 2036:

    He's better off hoping that NASA made a mistake on their calculations for 99942 Apophis in 2036:

    I rate Apophis as a much more likely candidate. And its approach is more likely to be close enough to Earth's gravity well to bring it around again sooner than 2079. :)

    You know it won't be an Earth shattering extinction event, just incredibly annoying. inconvenient and expensive.
    And in keeping with our luck it will slam right into Fort Mac.
    Leaving a crater full of pounded out pure crude oil the size of Lake Superior, decades after everyone's stopped using it...
