Let the culture of entitlemen commence!
But, but, but we have to cut wasteless spending...
16 people at around 1000 a ticket. I bet they didn't fly coach.
For a 16 passenger charter, $1000 a head isn't a bad price.
But for a Political Party junket, it's not taxpayer responsibility.
When Allison Redford was using the Provincially owned aircraft fleet for her own personal use, she got roasted. And they sold the fleet, at a loss, paid big bucks for improvements to the ground fleet and spent millions on video conferencing equipment government wide. Great deal.
Just saying.
CDN $1k pp for a charter is a STEAL.
Just saying.
It should not cost $1,000 per person to travel one-way from Saskatoon to Calgary, which is only about an 8 hour drive IIRC.
Surely there are cheaper ways to travel between these two points. In the new year Im flying round trip from Toronto to Cabo San Lucas Mexico for C$500 including fees and taxes. And I see that if tonight I bought a nonstop one way flight to London leaving tomorrow it would only cost $600. Maybe mr Kenney needs to try using Expedia for a change.
I guess he only believes in austerity for the masses not for the conservative elites and their luxurious lifestyles.
Maybe some future generation will do a comprehensive study that explains why Canada does things the way it does. I don't expect the answers to be revealed during my remaining time on earth though.

Of course there are cheaper ways. We are just saying to an aircraft for $1000 per person is a good deal. Charters are usually double the price of commercial flights, in country. If you want to start hopping borders, it's much more.
Last time I was in a charter, it was $25,000 for a week and we could go anywhere on 4 hours notice. 6 people max. But that was like 20 years ago.
Not only would the actual trip be less of a taxpayers burden, we could sell tickets to the spectacle
Just my own two cents here but this was a good deal. $1k pp on a charter actually saved on the level of security they would have required on a common carrier flight, road convoy, or etc.
Except it was a Party function, so the taxpayers should not have been paying the bill.

Just to show that too many Alberta conservatives are now playing by MAGA rules, in full defense of Our Guy, one of the SUN's twerpy little online polls had nearly 60% of respondents saying the government billing the taxpayer for the flight was OK by them.
It isn't even a "yeah, well the Libs and Dippers do it too!". The base would have flipped out just as much as if other Tories like Stelmach or Redford did. And rightfully flipped out over all the nonsense Redford did during her one-year reign of graft. But apparently Kenney's got a pass. For fuck's sake, this is what I mean when I say that "the people" are crap too these days. After all it's the people that keep letting these politicians get away with it.
