CBC says they wont be suing a Liberal candidate or the Liberal Party for using CBC material in an online partisan ad even as they continue a lawsuit against the Conservatives for the same thing.

And this is surprising how? The CBC has always been "First Channel" for the Liberal Party and now that Justins bought the media it's likely to get alot worse.

Can anybody say just more CBC hypocrisy?

Yes, they shouldn't have any rights to the material they produce. How dare they defend their hard work by calling out the blatant lies of the CPC.

Just another CPC lie caught by the media.

    What lie?

As for hard work? The CBC hasn't worked hard since it became the taxpayer funded propaganda wing for the Liberal Party of Canada. And yes you're correct, they have every right to the material they produce and as such can sue anyone they want.

But, just in case you forgot, the CBC is still a taxpayer funded media outlet paid for by all Canadians no matter their political affiliation, a fact which makes their decision to sue the Conservatives for unauthorized use of their intellectual property while giving the Liberals a free pass for the same actions more than a little hypocritical.

But of course the CBC is never biased are they? Or, is that just mantra that the CBC supporters cling to in the hopes that no one notices actions like this?

The CBC still breaks more exclusive stories than the other networks, without all the click bait. And they do it against whichever party hold the majority in the Parliament, even the Liberals.

Copyright exists to let the producer of a work decide how it is used. The Conservatives can cite it, as a fair use work. But what they can't do is re-work the media to represent something the author didn't intend. That is illegal. In fact, the Harper Conservatives were the ones who reinforced that part of copyright law when they began the negotiations for the TPP.

Odd you would condone an illegal action by the CPC, while chastising the Liberals when theybreak the law.

And why do you always return to 'bias'? Everyone and everything has bias. You have bias. I have bias. The important part is telling the Truth, something the CBC is trying to force the CPC into doing.

Spin it how you want Doc, it's still hypocrisy from the propaganda arm of the Liberal party.

The CBC is not biased but they along with other 'news' outlets are bought and paid for, so the end result speaks for itself.

I can say defund the CBC.

It they're really this great unbiased, paragon of news breaking necessity they should be able to make it on their own.

If they want to sue Canadians for using the content Canadians pay for with their taxes they can go private. Do they have a right to sue like a private company? Perhaps but they're not a private company.

And are they biased? They sure as Hell are. Selective editing, burying the lede, opinion passed off as analysis, wackadoodle leftist commentators, softball questions for one side but personal attacks on the other, prog-favoring stories of offenses against the diverse screamed as fact but whispered with a tiny disclaimer then forgotten when they turn out to be hoaxes, photographic evidence of blatant Liberal support like Justin all huggy-kissy with the 2 CBC reporters on the couch.

Suing Conservatives while Liberals dance free for the same offence. Yes there's evidence of bias.

Screw em'. Defund the CBC. Max should put that on his platform next election.

Hey, they get quite good results for that $600 million.
