So, in the effort of what was formerly considered fair play and sportsmanship they should take all gender references out of the sports and allow the participants to compete together and take any drug, steroid or testosterone therapy they want.
This would eliminate the blatant gender cheating but unfortunately would eliminate all biological women wouldn't have formerly qualified as East German shot putters from the competitions
You reap what you sow and the Olympics are reaping the rewards of letting some gender bending asshole compete as something he wasn't born as just because he'd never have qualified as a man.
Or, the Olympic Committee could just say. Get the operation, take the hormones to keep you gender straight and you can compete as what you just became. Otherwise tough shit, your a still a man and will be treated as such.
Semenya is female though, albeit with a naturally high level of testosterone, and that's been confirmed by every pre-race testing she has to do. She was legitimately born that way, she's not some freakshow tranny pulling a scam. HBO Sports did a fairly decent documentary on this issue several years ago about the naturally-occurring biochemical problems some people are born with, i.e. it's like an androgyny mutation with some girls being born with a runaway level of testosterone in them and some boys with wildly elevated estrogen. It's not some sinister social-engineering scheme that's being perpetrated by the "transgendered" mentally ill with support from the crazies in the university gender "studies" faculties.
Then why do they want her classified as a "male"? She's might be a he/she but her testosterone levels dictate her body thinks she's male and no documentary can change that.

Incorrect, the IOC, nor any testing body has confirmed, nor denied, the presence of a Y chromosome.
Semenya most likely has a Y chromosome. However, that is not the only determiner that the IOC uses. And this is for good reason, there are XX, XY, XXY, XYY, and XO types found.
Personally, end the BS, make it all 100% open, classes determined by appropriate physical characteristics for the event (like weight classes for wrestling).
Regardless, I hope Semenya does not have to go through the shit show Soundarajan went through. If she passes the criteria for the event today, she should retain any awards given per the criteria of that event...today. Not tomorrow or yesterday's criteria, but today's.
Edit:
My apologies, Semenya is tested by the IAAF, not the IOC. Edited for accuracy.

My error on the testosterone vs DNA. Regardless of that Semenya isn't in the same category as the wig-wearers with beards who want to use the female washroom in the mall with the little girls. One, Semenya, is a creation of nature. The other kind are just freaks looking for a social stamp of approval on their deviancy.
This is silly.
My error on the testosterone vs DNA.
No worries.
As much as I agree with this, to my knowledge there have been no wig-wearers allowed into this level of competition just yet, so I don't really understand how it applies to the current cases?
I could be very wrong, I don't follow even the majority of sports.
