Aw man. I loved watching that show when I was young. I was so used to seeing him as Super Dave it was almost jarring to see him on Curb Your Enthusiasm as an almost normal guy.
This is kind of weird. We had 3 celebrities die today. They were all exactly 76 years old. We had Bob of course. We also had Daryl Dragon (better known as the Captain from the Captain and Tennille). There was a time when they owned the airways in the 70's. Then my greatest loss of the day was "Mean" Gene Okerlund. My friend had sent me a wrestling video today. It was sad to watch as most of the people in the video are dead now. People doing their thing, touching our lives, making our memories as the years go by. RIP to all of them. Thanks for the good times, and the good memories.
I'm a huge Super Dave fan, and not just for how funny his schtick was. Super Dave was also heavily involved in Canadian TV, starting first with his breakout appearances on the show back in the 1980s, and his own self-titled Super Dave show that went into the 1990s.
Super Dave even filmed some of his funniest sketches in Canada. Here's his epic jump from the top of the CN Tower:
And here's his King Of The Road stunt, which took place in Ontario. Apparently the railway bridge still exists:
