UK Police are forced to spend hours investigating 11,236 'hate crimes'

Figures showed 30 forces dealt with the equivalent of one 'hate incident' every half an hour, if replicated across the country. This included a complaint about wolf whistles and a tweet from Lord Alan Sugar.

    It's a matter of priorities, I guess.

    In other news:

"UK police becoming 'irrelevant' as uncharged crime surges and investigations drop"

    https://voiceofeurope.com/2018/11/uk-po ... ions-drop/

MPs have said that United Kingdom police risk becoming "irrelevant" to the population as investigations into crimes plummet and a "shockingly-low number of charges" are brought for most crimes, even though the rate of reported crimes are rising steeply.

The Committee's data reveals that recorded crime has surged by 32% in just 3 years - yet charges and summons are down 26%.

The report explains that "in all neighbourhoods, without local engagement, policing is at risk of becoming irrelevant to most people, particularly in the context of low rates of investigation for many crimes".

Voice of Europe media bias/ fact check

Bias: Extreme Right, Propaganda, Conspiracy, Anti-Islam
    Country: Unknown

    History

Voice of Europe is a far right website that publishes sensational stories. Although the website doesnt list who runs the site, according to Whois the sites registrant name is Annemiek Ploumen. According to Dutch magazine De Groene Amsterdammer (independent Dutch weekly news magazine published in Amsterdam), Erik De Vlieger is the financier and founder of the site, although he will not confirm or deny this publicly, while Daan van Seventer is the technical person. Voice of Europe doesnt have an about page, however according to their twitter profile information they describe their content as Conservative news network delivering you breaking news, uncensored articles and must-see videos.

    Funded by / Ownership

Ownership is not disclosed, however Erik De Vlieger appears to be the financier and the website is primarily funded through online advertising.

    Analysis / Bias

In review, Voice of Europe reports stories from European media and frames and spins them in a misleading way that always turns out negative for immigrants and the European Union: Almost 98% of gang rapists in Sweden have a migrant background, Sweden reports highest number of murders in fifteen years Voice of Europe also has a poor track record with fact checkers.

Voice of Europes stories consist of sensational click bait headlines and focus on a variety of topics that are mostly anti-immigrant with emotionally loaded headlines and content such as Swedish student suspended for telling the truth about migrant sex crimes. Voice of Europe frequently uses factually mixed sources such as Breitbart, Daily Mail, Gatestone Institute, and Sputnik News.

Overall, this site is Questionable due to extreme right wing bias, promotion of propaganda, conspiracy theories and poor sourcing. (M Huitsing 4/8/2018) Updated (10/24/2018)

Really? The "Far Left" doesn't like something they want to call "Far right?"

I may never recover from the shock.

Crimes such as acid attacks, stabbings, shootings, moped robberies are sky-rocketing in the UK while the police devote resources to claims of offensive speech.

That's the fact. If you can find one of your far left sites offering evidence that isn't happening, Beave, I'd like to see it. Otherwise, as always, "you got nothin'"

A news source that nobody will admit to owning or funding is not credible. Period.

Ooh how inconvenient. Police being forced to do work!
Cannabis still illegal in the UK, wonder how much time they're being "forced to waste" on that?

Hang on...let me make sure, I understand this.

You don't care that what that news source is saying is true, right?

The more heinous crimes actually aren't being investigated as they should be. Also I'll tell you such crimes are sky rocketing in the UK. At the same time police resources are being wasted looking for somebody who might be making an offensive remark.

    None of that matters though.

If a dodgy site you like tells you another site is dodgy and you're not allowed to like it because it has the wrong bias nobody is allowed to hear the truth they're telling. Period.

So then what do you do? Close your eyes blink twice and decide nobody heard the truth? Your job is done? Nobody knows now that heinous crimes are sky rocketing in the UK. Police resources are being wasted investigating offensive remarks? You open your eyes and none of that happened? 8O

Do you and yours ever listen to some of the things you say?

And herb...gang grooming, stabbings, shootings, acid attacks and moped attack thefts aren't pot smoking. Give your head a shake.

I would have to read it from a more credible source to believe its true. And based on the site I believe its likely false or exaggerated.

    Not good enough Beave.

What part of the equation are you having trouble with?

    A) That incidents of heinous crimes are skyrocketing.

    B) That a large number of police officers are being assigned duties investigating allegations of offensive remarks?

    or

    C) That there are complaints of a lack of police to deal with serious complaints?

Do you have anything to support your claim none of that is happening other than 'I don't want to believe it' or you don't like the messenger so the message can't be true.

Try this. If what I claim isn't happening show me support for what you think is happening.

    D) almost 22000 police in Britain have been taken off duty in the last decade due to the austerity cuts of the current Conservative government, the party that claims to be all about law & order - why aren't British Tories being held to account for their obvious role in making the current crime wave that much worse with their anti-police economic policies?

    E) all law in Britain is the privilege of Parliament only to create; as such any politically correct activities by town councils can be abolished by the national government; the current Conservative government in Britain hasn't done this at any time over the last decade that they've held power - if they're pro-police and anti-crime then why haven't they stepped in to ensure that existing police resources are devoted only to fighting actual crime instead of being wasted on politics-based nuisance complaints?

The anti-police austerity-obsessed British right-wing is as equally responsible as the PC left for the current crisis in crime and violence. Maybe even more than the left is, considering they hold the reins of power and the ability to properly fund British policing but are simply refusing to do so.
