Are the plates getting ready to release? 6.9 is a reasonably strong earthquake.
This is a release and according to more than a few theories these smaller quakes can help relieve stress and then prevent a larger quake.
That would be nice because a 9.2 off of Vancouver Island would devastate Victoria and cause serious damage in Vancouver and Seattle...not to mention the very likely tsunami that would follow.
Or these are the foreshocks to the massive earthquake of doom.
