Damn. RIP Queen. Sing another duet when you meet up with George again on the other side of veil, great lady.
And the river was deep I didn't falter When the mountain was high, I still believed When the valley was low it didn't stop me I knew you were waiting, I knew you were waiting for me
"MeganC" said Rip. Seems like she was a nice person
When you're a genuinely nice person and great talent people tend to treat you with alot more love and R-E-S-P-E-C-T than if you were just a great talent who qualified as an as*h*le.
An absolutely unique and powerful voice. So talented and soulful. She will be missed but her music will live forever.
I saw a great clip of her when she first fell ill a few days ago. It's from the 1998 Grammys. Luciano Pavrotti was scheduled to perform but called in sick at the last minute. With less than two hours notice or practice, Aretha comes out and belts out Nessun Dorma as only she could.
In the past, many of the great singers like Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha were what my aunt would call 'no oil paintings'. Nowadays there's so much emphasis on good looks for the videos, e.g. Ariana Grande, you'd wonder whether these incredibly talented singers would have made it today. I guess Adele managed it so maybe there is hope yet.

R.I.P. to a great lady and a fantastic actor/singer.....

My towns tribute to the Queen of soul on the worlds largest big screen.
RIP Aretha.
