A man wearing a Make America Great Again hat was refused service at the Teahouse in Stanley Park by the restaurant manager, according to the restaurant's management company.
The Sequoia Company says it opted to fire the restaurant manager for not abiding by its "philosophy of tolerance."
"Sequoia does not support intolerance of any kind, and it is because of these principles that we cannot discriminate against someone based on their support for the current administration in the United States or any other bona fide political party," Sequoia said in an official statement.
"The Teahouse has no political, ethnic or other bias and is committed to welcoming all visitors to Vancouver and treating all our customers with respect," reads the statement.
If you're not THE boss, you can unsurprisingly get fired.

Took guts It was complete stupidity to make a stand against an enemy of Canada to not serve a paying customer knowing there'd be consequences up to and including losing a job that the customer's business pays his wages. Wearing that hat in this country with the way Trump is treating us right now is the same as wearing a swastika during World War Two. should have no bearing on whether someone gets served or not in a place where they choose to spend their money.

Oh, and comparing a MAGA hat to wearing a swastika? You must have suffered a serious head injury to make a garbage statement like that. I'd rather see someone wear something as dumb as a MAGA Trump hat, than some piece of garbage white supremacist with his Neo-nazi crap.
