Paris Orly airport is evacuated after 'a shooting'

A man has been shot dead at Paris Orly airport after taking a soldier's gun and fleeing into a shop.

Unconfirmed reports claim a second man has also been shot dead, and a third suspect fled in a Renault Clio.

A police officer was shot in a separate incident moments later during a traffic stop in Paris.

Investigators are determining if the officer's shooting, at Garges-les-Gonesse is linked to the airport shooting.

A man in a Clio shot at police and fled, and the vehicle was found in Vitry containing a bloody t-shirt, Le Parisien reports.

Eyewitness Franck Lecam, 54, said the killing happened close to a departure lounge where people were waiting to board a flight to Israel.

Mr Lecam said: 'We were waiting in line to check in on the flight to Tel Aviv when we heard three or four gunshots nearby.
