People are just part of the problem. Lack of enforcement is. People have been able to get away with bad behaviour for so long that they don't see that they've become assholes. Now, a simple car horn will get you nearly killed.

The other day, I was on my way home and the Sheriffs had to road blocked off. They wanted to see everyone's license, registration and proof of insurance. "Document Check" they call it. Apparently, when I was in the hospital for cancer surgery, I forgot to put my new insurance card in my wallet. $230 fine. Insurance was paid, he checked that before giving me the ticket. A ticket he could have issued a warning for instead.

So, I asked the cop, "how does this make anyone safer?". He said it gets people who don't have insurance off the street. I asked how it gets the guy who was just on my bumper closer than I'd comfortably park doing 110km/h - how does that get him off the road? You know, the actually dangerous people?

He just waved me through . . .

Apparently my not having a current insurance card makes people less safe though.

The Police didn't care enough to stop my friend from being Cyberstalked for over a year where the person in question tried to ruin her life. As for this road rage incident it sounds like the Police were caught off guard with the brutality of it which is why I now carry a red aluminum bat in my truck, Jack Fuckn Nicholson protection.

Collapsible police baton. Probably not heavy enough to break any major bones but if I lay a double-hander across someone's face with it they'll need a plastic surgeon to fix their nose. And a dentist to install some new front teeth as well. Believe me, if the time comes I have to use it, I'm swinging for the fences if anyone takes a run at me.

I've been carrying at various time a bat, an axe handle, a shovel handle, and now the baton ever since I started driving back in 1986. There are no good old days to go back to with this, unless you're old enough to remember the mid-1960's before everything went to hell. All that happens is that every once in a while there's an incident, like this one with the crowbar, where someone goes so over the top the media takes notice. There's probably dozens, if not hundreds, of smaller incidents every day in our cities that don't make the news.

Just an FYI - if you carry a bat around, you might get in trouble with the police. Be sure to also have a ball and glove, so there are no misunderstandings.

    _____________

Maybe a nice big wrench is more acceptable. So when this happens again and it will the person being attacked defends themselves injuring the attacker he / she will be charged, that's Canada's justice system.

Don't need in the car, Europe is full of passive aggressive pussies.

As soon as you tough up, they back down.

I would put a mini gun on the bike if I could though. PDT_Armataz_01_36

So you're packing this shit for when you get road rage?
It''s a bullshit reaction, close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and atom bombs.
Meh... another idiot. More than enough emotional investment for what happens on the road.

What does that say about us?

Witnesses that don't come forward? Didn't help at the time?

Almost as shameful as the act, itself.

No, hypothetical question. WTF is it about road rage, this guy gets honked at and breaks the woman's arms?
AFAIK if you're not me behind the wheel I assume your a homicidal maniac having a seizure and deal with it, and I've done my share of dumb moves and been honked at lots.
Did one or both of us end up crashed? No? Then fucking move on, I'm trying to get somewhere aren't you?
