Problem fixed, just a glitch in Trevor's new and improved system for the news.

Can we start a pool?

Iraq back into chaos within 6 months vs Iraq back under a dictator within six months, etc.

The Lame Stream Media is trying to give Obama credit for this decision when the truth is he's following Bush's agreed time line to withdraw U.S. Forces from Iraq.

If that does happen its not Obama or Bush's fault it's the Iraqi Government's because they have to eventually accept responsibility for the future of Iraq.

Ah well, President Perry/Romney/Cain/Gingrich/Bachmann will almost certainly have a barn-burner going with Iran by no later than the middle of 2013 to cheer you guys up some. Awesome! Tens of millions more people to liberate from the twin tyrannies of a clean water supply and a functioning power grid!

Iraq is as likely to be a functioning democracy as Libya and Eygpt.

andyt and BRAH, I would say a very healthy percent of Iraq's welfare lays at the US's door.

There are many ways to remove a dictator, laying a country to waste is only one of them.

If the US was not going to stick around to actually 'finish the job' then they could have saved themselves (and most Iraqis) a lot of headaches by just assassinating Hussein and family.

To cop out now is pretty much an admission of defeat.

"We are here to liberate you! We bring democracy and prosperity!...oh shit, this is actually hard...you're on your own...see ya!"

What will they do when they return? Jobs are scarce. Especially for the unskilled (non techie) troops.

This is 90,000+ people to add to the jobs roster.

Methinks with the winding down of the Iraq/Afghan wars, there will be many private contractors available and looking for work.

Executive Outcomes 2012?

These men and women are coming home having performed difficult, stressful jobs under the worst possible conditions. The returning troops have skills that are unmatched among their peer-group and I think will be not only in very high demand among private employers, but will also be the entrepreneurs and managers that will lead the American economy for many years to come. I'd be much more worried for the Americans who will be competing for positions against this highly skilled group.
