When China has the balls to directly copy some of U.S.'s fighter jets without there permission and begin selling them to other countries for a cheaper price, I'd highly doubt China is putting much of a effort to root out these people. They bring China buisness... other peoples buisness actually but still something that profits them.

As long as they pay their taxes. I mean one of China's most wanted men is a human smuggler that's wanted for non-payment of some $300 million in taxes. Apparently they don't give a shit that he traffics people.

I think we have on here but not sure, we do fake chinese Iphones and Ipads fairly commonly here, anyways its amazing how china just rips off everything so shamelessly. Any one seen those chinese cars which are rip offs anything from a BMW to a Rolls Royce !

The product may have been Apple branded, and probabally even came from the factory where all Apple products are produced. But they still could be 'knock offs' that were not wholesaled through Apple.

I believe 90% of what I see, 50% of what i hear, and 10% of what news organizations tell me.

If the store is a knock off - right down to the t-shirts - I see no great leap in believing the products are too.

Hey, believe whatever you want. I'm just saying that when I first saw the story I assumed what you and others here in this thread did, that bogus shops were selling bogus products. When I read the story I realized that 5 stores exist, 3 were shut down for failing to have a business permit. That leaves 2 still operating, and the article says 2 more are planned to open soon, and there is nothing at all to suggest that the products are bogus.

So I don't mean to insist that you are wrong, I just wanted to say the headline is somewhat misleading. The stores are what are being "faked".

It's cool, you are just not getting what I'm putting down. Might be my fault for dancing around it so much.

See, the way to 'counterfit' products in Chinese factories is to have, say 3 working shifts per day. 8 Hour days. During these shifts, everything is above board. But they really run 4 shifts per day. The 4th shift, the product is churned out as before - sometimes with lower quality components - but functionally and visually identical. The company for which they are normally produced is never told of these units. These are the products I am talking about, that the stores may be selling.

Almost totally 100% real Apple product. Just when you got to take it in for waranty work, Apple has no record that it ever existed.

here they do something similar. To use Acer as one an example...for a good reason, the products all come from the same plants, but those products produced for domestic consumption are produced the way Dr. Caleb details. There are Acer products for export and Acer imports for domestic markets...god forbid that a mistake is ever made and the domestic products get shipped overseas by mistake.

This has happened to me. My wife and I bought Bulova watches at the local Costco, no less. while we were home, my watch lost the stem. i took it to the local jeweller/watch repair guy and he said both watches were fakes. My Rolexx that I bought in Guangzhou, about 10 years ago, still works fine though
