well I would say there is little chance we are not having an election now. I'm excited to use http://politwitter.ca/ to track the parties during the election and try and predict outcomes using social media metrics.

Fuck. Now we have to put up with hours of useless, derogatory, defaming, insulting and mind numbing commercials from all the political parties. Why don't we just skip the preamble and go right to the polls? No muss no fuss it's all over quick and easy, so we can go right back to where we are now with another minority Government and a whiney opposition. The only thing this whole futile exercise is gonna prove, is that a certain Harvard Professor should have stayed in school. Please God end it quickly, I don't think I can take another election with Elizabeth May. ![Bash [bash]](./images/smilies/bash.gif)

It seems they've been yapping about an "upcoming" election since just after the last one so I agree, let's just get it done and over with. Unfortunately, I see millions of dollars of our money being pissed away for another Conservative minority voted in by an even lower voter turnout than last time around.

Interesting message ! It’s worth reminding those in your circle who question the need for an election at this time that, under our parliamentary form of democracy, the only source of legitimacy for the government of the day is the “confidence of the House”. A prime minister and his/her Cabinet assume office when the MPs that you elect grant them that confidence in a formal vote, and lose office when that confidence is withdrawn. Seldom in our history has a sitting prime minister proven so unworthy of that confidence. Mr. Harper has been so narrowly partisan and so obsessed with winning a majority that, unlike any of his predecessors, he has never once in five years begun actually governing in the best interests of Canada and Canadians.

kenmore kenmore: Seldom in our history has a sitting prime minister proven so unworthy of that confidence. Not since the days of Jean Chretien. kenmore kenmore: Mr. Harper has been so narrowly partisan and so obsessed with winning a majority that, unlike any of his predecessors, he has never once in five years begun actually governing in the best interests of Canada and Canadians. Oh, the irony of that just kills me. Coming from one of the most partisan members of this forum. Thanks for the chuckles.

the brainwashing wiped his memory clean, the drying caused it to shrink and the final ironing removed all the wrinkles from his cerebrum.

I'll be voting for the same knob I did last time as the other two knobs are even more knobby than the first one. Plus there is no way I could ever vote for Iggy or Jack. This time I'm not going to let any knob, regardless of political allegiances, put a sign on my lawn.

They are now going to waste $300+ million on an election yet they weekly make a big deal out of shit that costs thousands. I'd like to line them all up for a kick in the nuts.

Meh, can't vote for Iggy, Harper or Jack directly, since neither are contesting my riding. But, I'll most likely be tossing it out for Olivia Chow this May. Demographics of my riding: Demographics Average family income: $81,415 [1] (2001) Median family income: $50,047 [2] Unemployment: 6.7% Language, mother tongue: English 52%, French 2%, Other 46% Religion: Catholic 32%, Protestant 15%, Buddhist 5%, Jewish 4%, Muslim 3%, No religious affiliation 33%, Other 7% [3] Visible Minority: Chinese 18%, Black 4% South Asian 3%, Filipino 2%, Southeast Asian 2%, Korean 2%, Others 6% I expect Olivia to win this, closely contested with the liberal representative, the demographics favour her.
