Just as there was a time when drunk driving wasn't considered bad so it is the same with cell phone useage.

They are both bad news.

My dad constantly plays with his in-dash GPS while he's driving, even though he knows where he's going. It's only slightly less dangerous than the previous GPS mounted on a suction cup that would fall off and "have" to be reattached while driving. And now so many cars come equipped with an in-dash DVD player too. It's not just cell-phones, it's ANY kind of digital distraction.

Personally I can hardly wait until they ban kids or people in general from the car...oh even loud stereo's. In Alberta they have a distraction law so you can get a ticket for anything you do in your car now. You must by law travel in the center of your own lane or face a fine.

And you have a problem with that?

If they had a machine that could do that we would have auto pilot.

One of the local drivers got a ticket because his trailer swerved between the fog line and the yellow line but did not cross...100 bucks and 2 points for a guy that does 200,000 Kilometers a year.
