Or smear them in pig fat and shove that IED up HIS ass.

One of the rules of "Jihad" that works in our favour. They must defeat us on their home turf before they can come and attack us on our turf.

And this guy is

$1:
Stanikzy, an Afghan national, faces charges of assault, attempting to possess an explosive substance, counselling to commit theft, uttering a threat to cause death and threatening to burn, destroy or damage personal property.

None of the charges say terrorism. Don't we have charges for that? I mean what he's charged with a gang banger could have done, and probably get a couple of years in jail. This guy needs to be put away for a long time.

As for fighting over here once we stop fighting them there. So what, we're going to post legions over there for eternity, keep having our soldiers killed, just to keep them from coming here? The Taliban have never shown an inclination to take the fight out of Astan, they're focused on their country. Al Qaeda etc on the other had are the ones that want to take the fight here, and they have for some time. So pulling out of Astan likely won't make any difference one way or the other. Better solution is to be far tougher in who we allow into this country in the first place, and keeping a closer watch on homegrown young numbnuts who get radicalized over the internet.

I agree and disagree with you Andy.

I don't understand the charges. But w/e. Maybe EB can explain.

As for fighting over there, for every soldier over there there is at least one muslim foreign fighter fighting them. A good portion of them would be willing to attack western countries once we all leave. Also, all the money Al-Qaeda puts into the war would be freed up to be put towards other things, including more attacks on western nations.

I'm not saying attacks will happen, but the probability of them occurring will most certainly increase once we all leave.

As for the last line of your post, I wish I could give ya a rep for that. [B-o]

Here's a cynical view I want to try out: You say we'd be fighting them here. Maybe that's better, since not only soldiers would be getting killed in a faraway land, easily ignored, but civilians as well. If that came to pass, it would certainly mobilize the population to fight back full on. It could of course lead to the kind of demagoguery we saw in the US after 911, which is a danger. But it would certain focus our nation's attention.

Oh it's a cynical view, but I agree entirely. Nothing would motivate the Canadian population more than if innocents were killed in an attack or series of attacks.

Not saying I want it to happen, what we have right now where troops are killed far away would be far better than the alternative of having fighting here (of course, I'd perfer no fighting at all) But thats what it would take to motivate the Canadian people. If it ever does happen, god forbid, I hope that said motivation is not used to the detriment of the nation and people, as we have seen south of the border.
