$1: Research from the U.S. demonstrates that Bill S-10 will only increase drug market violence ... and direct billions of taxpayer dollars into failed policies instead of towards proven prevention and treatment approaches, added Dr. Julio Montaner, director of the B.C. Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS.
Hopfully S-10 will be voted down in the House of Commons anyway. Or the Cons kill it themselves again before that can happen.

$1: Montaner, who received the 2010 Prix Galien Canada award in Ottawa on Tuesday, said as more cities back the Declaration, the government won’t be able to keep ignoring the issue. Wanna bet??

The downside of tacit legalisation, as this 'declaration' calls for, is a permanent class of unemployable persons who will be entitled to government support both for their living and for the drug habit that renders them socially useless. But you can rest assured that once Canada has a few million heroin zombies that they'll all vote Liberal or NDP.

That's what we have now. The Vienna Declaration only says that drug policy should be based on evidence. Prohibition doesn't work.

Killing drug users is harm reduction

$1: Vancouver’s supervised injection site — which research shows reduces the spread of disease, prevents overdose deaths and points users toward treatment — is governed by this principle. It may just do that, but what they fail to mention is that these same drug addicts still have to feed their habits and continue committing crimes to do it, which, causes the public to fork out more monies for theft insurance, policing, and crime reduction programs. Oh and I guess they can't claim that they don't cost the healtcare system as much money if they have clean injection sites, because, as was discussed before, all the ER beds are going to fucking junkies so they can have a place to nod off when the weather gets bad. What a crock of liberal double speak crap, which isn't suprising when you consider that it's the bicycle king that's running Vancouver.

You want to make crack, heroin, meth and whatever else the dope dealers can come up with legal?

He did coke, so he could work harder and make more money so he could buy more coke, so he could work harder, so he could make more money, so he could buy more coke.... See, he's the perfect role model for drug addicts everywhere, an honest tax paying conservative druggie. I know that saying "honest" and "conservative" in the same sentence is an oxymoron...and that "conservative" and "druggie" redundant - but you get the point. That yer a partisan hack? Care to point me in the direction of an "honest" liberal? Haven't seen one in decades. Hell, good luck finding an "honest" politican of ANY stripe in Canada
