Hypothetically speaking, so I don't get jumped on by some for being "anti-Canadian."

Let's assume Quebec picked up all their toys and left Canada, and the remaining provinces joined up with the United States.

What would happen to Quebec's culture and economy??

Two things would

The birth of the first banana republic in North America

OR

They would beg France to take them, but the French would go say what ? Since they can't understand Canadian french anyways

On a serious note this kind of thing sends of mixed messages. On one Canada says its a free democratic secular society and then on the other you have such draconian language laws.

You don't have to worry about Québec going anywhere any time soon. There are too many immigrants in the province now who feel they would be ostracized by the government of an independent Québec. There are many who do not want anything to do with another referendum. Charest is doing a good thing forcing bill 103 through. It will protect some groups.

How about ROC just remains Canada? Why do we have to join the US? Who wants to jump on board a sinking ship?

Seems to me all it does it make it even harder for parents to make decisions about their own childrens educations. Who does that protect?
