What's next: official German statues and monuments to honour this monster?

I don't think thats the case, how long can they bury the truth of the man, it's education and the German People of today especially the younger generations need to learn and be clear about the history of their country and how and why Hitler gained so much power. It's wrong in my mind to stifle any history as we all learn from the past.

samkorn, you are wayyy off base.

Germany has been fighting this stuff for decades.
Maybe the powers that be see it as a chance to slow down the far right.

Ignoring history is a certain guarantee to its repetition. The Germans are spot-on in both exploring their history with open eyes and they are also spot-on in telling the worlds hypersensitive types to bugger off. It's been 65 years since the end of WW2 and it's time to move on.

That's because you live in the US. Living in Germany or elsewhere in Europe
is a different kettle of fish.

Especially when Ba'athism (that's Islamic fascism) is openly tolerated.

There's probably far less genuine Nazis in Germany nowadays than there now are in Britain or the US. Look at the Balkans, especially places like Serbia, if you want to see where the Nazi message has found a fertile dungheap in which to grow.

True though theres still a large neo-nazi movement in Germany too, a far cry from the rise of nazi-ism in the 20's and 30's though

Humanity will be doomed to repeat massive mistakes if we can't learn to circumvent them ahead of time. History is an important facet of society. We won't know where we're going as a whole if we don't where we've been.

Unless you prefer to be ignorant rather than educated. History is most often written by the victors, but both sides of the story help create the education of said events as a whole.

By learning, we just avert future catastrophes.

-J.
