Ok, not a smart move guys. Good of you all to admit it. But a two week suspension - from a volunteer department? Who's kidding who here?

Oliver city council originally recommended three-month suspensions for the members, but that decision has since been rescinded. The suspensions will be served in two-week rotations so the community can ensure there will be enough firefighters.

I'm a fulltime FF and the golden rule is "Don't steal". We're in people's houses all the time when they are at their most vulnerable. This is unacceptable and I would probably fire the lot. I don't buy the 'pumped about the fire' excuse.

Apparently, not good enough. You can want to move on whatever you want, but that is not up to you. You can keep your stealing firefighters. If steailing is something I have to be afraid of when everything I worked hard for is going up in flames, I rather know its all gone than think it might be in the hands of the "well respected" firemen I cannot trust anymore.

When you try to do something good after you get caught doing something bad, it still looks bad.

If you want to do something good, come forward before getting caught, even better, before you even think you might get caught.

The group standing together, the check sent to the hotel... just looks like a publicity campaign to me.


Doesn't say if the hotel is pressing charges.
