Anyway, just behave yourself, and no cop will even touch you.

Behaving yourself, as defined by the cops, seemed to involve not being present in the first place. Plenty of non-violent people were arrested. You really want to be such a sheep as to agree with that?

I am not there, so I am, am I not?

Oh, you're being a good little girl. But are you really supporting the argument that people just shouldn't demonstrate in the first place, and if a few of those demonstrators run riot, they whole group is equally guilty? From what I've read, the worst rioting only involved the black bloc running wild, no other protesters or cops, present. The media was able to find these black blockheads, but somehow not the cops. Yet the next day, the cops used this as an excuse to charge and arrest peaceful protesters. You really support that?

I don't think the police decide who is guilty or not, but if the party I am with, or am close to, fuck up, everybody will get arrested, and later it will be sorted out who was rioting and who was not. That's the way it is and the way it will always be.

I'm sorry, but the media tend to be everywhere where "news" is. And even when it's not news, they will make sure it will become news.

And round and round we go.

I leave you guys to your misty worlds of imagined police oppression. I'm happy that 90% of the people supported us and thanked us for our efforts.

You 10%, well you have free speech to show your disdain towards us because of people like us and our brothers and sisters in the Military.

While you sleep in your comfy beds we are making sure you are safe.

Long live free speech and have a happy Dominion Day and a fantastic Canada Day!

Play your violin, but I haven't shown disdain toward the cops.

As for sleeping in your comfy beds - tell that to the couple who were rousted (wrong house) but without a warrant. Or the people who were pre-arrested during the Asia Pacific summit. Or ones who were arrested for displaying signs in their windows. Sounds like a few were this time too, don't know if on legit grounds so I won't comment.

You seem to just see things in black and white. Either we're totally for you, or we must be against you.

But yep, enjoy your Canada Day.

In a perfect world maybe...

$1:
"I thought it was a bad dream. Basically I woke up, and there were four police officers in my room," Booth told CBC News.

"It was one of the very few nights I forgot to lock the front door and, lo and behold, they gained access and did not ring the doorbell, did not knock.

"One of them has his gun drawn and [it] is pointed at me, which is obviously an extremely unsettling way to wake up."

Cops fuck up. They shouldn't, but they do. Every body does. Sue them. I'm sorry for the guy. Get therapy. Life sucks.
(Seriously, can you find stories about where the cops find a little kid alive that had been lost? Or about one that saved an elderly person from a burning house or something? I'm SURE they are out there.)

Cops entering your house without a warrant is more than a fuckup.

How does a cop saving somebody make it OK for "the cops" as an entity to trample civil rights? I didn't know the Dutch were such sheep.

Most cops are decent people trying to do a difficult job. I fail to understand how this in any way mitigates the police force as a whole abusing their powers. Next you'll be saying the cops in the Dziekanski case should be let off because one of them once found a lost kid.

So just because I am Dutch, EVERY Dutchy is like me?

I was unlawfully fired once. That was more than a fuck up too. I sued, I won. But I guess I have to blame every boss now?

Well, let's hope not.

Nope. But if this was because of decisions made by the leaders of this company, and you getting fired means potentially lots of other people getting fired for no good reason, wouldn't that merit a response more than "so let em sue if they don't like it"?

Curtman Curtman:
Bullshit. The black block ran around "wrecking downtown", while police were either nowhere to be seen or off beating up people singing our anthem. Journalists were able to follow them, 1 billion dollars of police couldn't.

Well Curt, you're just a plain old ignorant fellow, aren't you?

Firstly, spell Black Bloc correctly. It'd show that you know something about that which you speak.

Secondly, $1,000,000,000 does not go solely to bringing in the police at the G20. Perhaps a quarter of that did. Remember, that covered the G8 AND the G20. Don't go letting any of those facts hurt your pointy little head though.

Thirdly, the police have a greater mandate than rushing to interfere with the Black Bloc wherever it be found. Were the police to simply rush the anarchists at first blush, they may find themselves outnumbered or drawn away from their overall goal of maintaining security around the G20 Summit. Simply because you can't fathom tactics greater than what works for you and your World of Warcraft guild doesn't mean the police can't either.

Fourthly, Toronto Police went and filmed their interactions too. Have you bothered to look at their footage? No? Why bother then huh, it must be doctored...

Fifthly, had it ever occurred to you that the people on YouTube are....lying to you? Don't worry about it though, just watch Loose Change a few times more and you'll be back to believing anarchists.

Sixthly, try and get some consistency. Either the police were too heavy handed in beating up protesters or they were too lenient in letting the Black Bloc burn down Toronto.

Fix these errors.

The problem is. For an hour and a small group of thugs called the black block ran around causing destruction. The police allowed the photo-op to happen so that people like EyeBrock and yourself could point to the protesters and say look at the terrorists. The police were only doing what they were told to do. So when we ask questions about why Harper chose this location, or why Bill Blair deliberately mislead the public, it has nothing to do with supporting anarchists. It also has nothing to do with hating police.

Fantastic, nothing more than speculation driving that. People get away with crimes all the time Curtman. Do Toronto coppers also allow murders to occur so they can justify their jobs next month?

It's the same bullshit nonsense paranoid persecution complex that lets fools with keyboards spout "Pharmaceutical companies can cure cancer, but they just treat it instead" or "My naturopath doctor knows how to cure AIDS using mustard seeds so I'm smart!" or "Obama tricked Bush into letting the financial meltdown happen so he could champion socialism."

Jesus Christ...
