EyeBrock EyeBrock:
Wolfe was just another 'Rodney'. Brock was a real soldier.
Yes, Canada should buy this.
...As long as it isn't highway robbery..
You know, I'm actually a bit surprised by this coming from you. In my personal opinion, all countries should do their best to collect and take care of it's historical artefacts and treasures, even if it's a high cost. Paintings of individuals like Wolfe or Brock, royal jewels of monarchies both past and present, cemeteries and historical buildings, whatever else, really can't be replaced if they're damaged or destroyed. Sure, we can find people to paint the Mona Lisa exactly as Leonardo did, or we can reforge a set of knight armor, but it lacks the...essence of history. It lacks the dings, the imperfections, the challenges, and the triumph of the original.
I have no idea if this is making sense, haha.
Edit: Here's an example. Let's say...tomorrow, we find some shipwreck from the War of 1812. Most of the ship is totally rotted, but the cannons and a few other things (personal effects of the sailors, some elements of the ship) were found. Sure, we can mould a new cannon and say this is a replica of the cannon found on so and so ship, but it doesn't have the same value as the cannon that's half rusted in the bottom of some lake or ocean. The cannon in that shipwreck was not only smelted by people with technological capabilities far weaker than our own, but it was fired, it was used by the crew to defend Canada against the Americans. That replica doesn't have that...personal touch.
