What's more, in heart attack patients, Fenwick said, "there is no coherent cerebral activity which could support consciousness, let alone an experience with the clarity of an NDE."

The mind is most complexe organ we have and we are VERY far from fully understanding it.
There are many phenomenons that are most probably "mind generated" that we can't explain... NDE, visions and "dèjà vu" are some.

There are chemical imbalances that may trigger mental problems including "Dissociative identity disorder". Although this is known and the problem can be treated in some cases, we still don't know how it affects the brain.
