That was a wild wind & rainstorm yesterday! I was suprised that power didn't go out in my area. I was telling Wil & Co about it on his radio forum this morning that when I went out early this morning there was a brief period where it was raining/snowing/hailing all at once when much of the sky was clear and blue. The wind finally died down this afternoon.
Nice thing about yesterday's storm is the dump of snow on the local mountains, it sure looked pretty today. I took a pic of Grouse which I posted in my online album here.

No pics of the mountains, although Golden Ears looked great, but....nice whitecaps on the river.

Hyack Hyack: wildrosegirl wildrosegirl: Which river is that, H? Still the Old Muddy aka the Fraser.... Guessed as much. Holy - muddy indeed. Looks much like the un-fishable Peace last weekend. Mother Nature is NOT cooperating thus far. She's starting to piss me off.

That's the normal colour of the river.....year round. Ask Q about Lytton, where the Fraser and the Thompson meet, I've got pics somewhere, I think. Not mine, but you get the point?

I think it just went through here with white out conditions, power was off for 3 hours, the QE2 shut down, and temp dropped 25 degrees with the wind chill. Haven't seen anything this intense for years.

I just got all learned up. He was telling me about that exact spot. Thanks, H. One day I'll have to get down to that country and see all of this for myself.

Haven't seen anything this intense for years. A friend of mine called me earlier this morning asking about the weather. She was in Grand Cache, it was snowing like hell, and she was wondering if she should make a run for here, or stay another day. It missed us, fortunately. Got cold, grey and dreary, didn't warm up at all, and a bit of wind, but that was about it.

Power went off here at 5:30 so we went out at about 7 to see if we could get supper some place, the town looked like a ghost town. Then all the traffic from the highway starts looking for a place to stay for the night, with all the cars parked around the front doors of the motels I don't think the staff knew how to book rooms without a computer.
