"Eventually to lower costs for consumers" when has the BC Liberal government done anything for the people of BC as a whole? Just keep taxing the shit out of us. So my question is, What will be the next tax after HST?

Yeah right, I wouldn't vote for those fuckers again even if I had a gun to my head.

And that's why Gordo can do pretty well anything he wants to. Especially with Carol James as an opponent.

Well I'm not familiar with the provincial candidates in BC but after Ontario's experience with the NDP, I can only assume that the NDP would actually be worse than having a bunch of shit flinging monkeys in power.

I dunno, we've got the shit flinging monkeys now, and that doesn't seem to work out all that well either. NDP is just a label, it all depends on the people who are running things. Unfortunately our NDP leader is not very impressive. But then it's hard to be impressive in opposition.

Protest all you want. Gordo isn't gonna stop the HST. The sleezebag needs the money the feds are promising to bring down his horrendous budget deficit, which we have because of fiscal mismanagement on the part of his Governments.

As for voting NDP, never never never. They had eight years to prove they could run the province without union pandering and corruption but failed miserably. If you're an voter like me who hates both the NDP and the Liberals, it doesn't leave much choice, so for the last two elections I've been voting for the BC Refederation party.

It was a protest vote before but the party seems to be picking up steam, especially after Gordo's latest debacle.

Here's the parties platform:

A BC Refederation Party government will propose three fundamental political changes to dramatically improve life for all British Columbians:

BCRefed IS THE ONLY PARTY THAT WILL EMPOWER THE PEOPLE by;

1 Installing a BC Constitution placing the people as the ultimate authority, rather than the Premier-chosen Lieutenant Governor.

2 In that BC Constitution, giving the people an optional veto over Victoria legislation, and workable recall.

3 From that BC Constitutional power, renegotiating with Ottawa our provincial rights unlawfully invaded by the federal charter.

The gst should never have been cut. Income tax on the lowest bracket should have been cut. Why can't people understand that taxing consumption is the best way for a society to apply taxes?

The sad part is that we'll have had the HST for 4 years before we get to vote again. My guess would be that Gordo thinks the people in BC are so stupid, they won't remember who brought it in.

The HST is a done deal. And as we all know there's no way that any government will rescind a tax already in place.

Gordo just wants a big government, and doesn't have the money to pay for it. That's why he wants the HST. More money=bigger government=more power.

$1:
1 Installing a BC Constitution placing the people as the ultimate authority, rather than the Premier-chosen Lieutenant Governor.

Wouldn't make a lick of difference.
$1:
2 In that BC Constitution, giving the people an optional veto over Victoria legislation, and workable recall.

We have a recall formula in place already. And to quote Winston Churchill" The best case against democracy is a 5 minute dicussion with the average voter."

$1:
3 From that BC Constitutional power, renegotiating with Ottawa our provincial rights unlawfully invaded by the federal charter.

If Quebec can't get this, why would we ?
