About fucking time! The fact that this has been allowed to take place for so long is beyond comprehension. Our justice system, and our government for that matter is a joke. Time to revamp things.

Definitely about time. Those [insert expletive here] cost us too much as it is. I sure as hell don't need to make sure they have a nice, cozy retirement.

If they don't get a pension, they'll probably just end up on welfare. Call it what you want. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

I don't have a problem with prisoners being paid a pension....
as long as they are charged at least $50..00/day room and board!

Welfare would kick in after their release. Pensions would accumulate during incarceration. Why should some two bit, useless scumbag have the opportunity to bank that money while we're footing all of their bills? Screw that.

Knee jerk...
So now every prisoner incarcerated for other reasons leaves jail with absolutely no stake whatsoever. Universality has been compromised, so let's keep it up andmake all pensioners pee in a cup before they get their cheque.
One poster, finding the absolute worst case example and one gov't incapable of refined thought is all it takes!
Is there no one else in the country capable of realizing that these guys have been getting pensions all along, yet the same gov't is too stupid to claw back 80% and claim that's exactly what happens to seniors in full medical facilities? And prisoners receive: full time care.
Missed an opportunity to recover money from within the existing system and are going to add costs in the end, and people are too stupid to see that?
They also fucked over the families of slimeball Olson's victims by making sure there's no money to recover from their lawsuits!
THEY JUST SCREWED YOU.
THEY JUST SCREWED THE VICTIMS FAMILIES!
Ad you cheer because you can't think above your gut?

Or as the rest of seniors in "subsidized housing", 70% of their pension.

But honestly, I still have a problem with it. AFTER their release, fine. During their sentence, no chance.

$50.00/day = more than they receive in pension payments.

Good for now, until the charter challenge on equallity, which they used to be allowed to vote.

What the hay is the Government thinking???? Punishing criminals! They really need to back down on these new-fangled ideas.
