It's about time they did something. The Young Offenders Act is an absolute joke. It should have been abolished before it was ever instated.

I stand with the Liberals on this one; Rehabilitation needs to be at the forefront of our minds for youth involved with the justice system.

Indeed. I would say put a heavy heavy heavy focus on Education in the youth justice system. Along with extensive testing for LDs, which can be dealt with.

Students who have undiagnosed Learning Disabilities often develop 'emotional walls' which cause them to experience limited success in school and, as such, act out.

Fuck the youths, when I was under 18 years old I knew I could break the law and face very little if any repercussions. Everyone said "If you are going to do something stupid do it now before you turn 18", and guess what the moment people turned 18 they stopped being the school bully.

Education? HA! Have you seen our K-12 education systems? It's built for failures.

It's about time something changed. However, the changes mentioned in this article are only a start, there is still alot further they could go. I'm sick of teenagers getting with murder, literally, because of their "age".

Realistically, the whole damn justice system needs to be changed, we are much too soft on all offenders, adult or child.
