Not if it's printed in the notoriously anti-union SUN. You guys jumped the gun and tried to crucify someone for making a tiny mistake that almost everyone else eventually does themselves. It's as much a total non-story now as it was the very second that the rabble-rousing SUN decided to go to print with it the first time around.

Guy falls asleep at work. People with too much free time on their hands complain too much about it. BFD. Get over it.

I saw the pic and got a chuckle out of it. Cell phones are everywhere nowadays. The guy is a ticket collecter, not a heart surgeon. I could care less about him sleeping on the job. Not like he was operating a crane.

Unfortunately sleeping on the job is cause for dismissal whether it's a union or non-union job. It being a union job he may be given some leeway for the first instance, but it will be strike 1 against him. The union can only protect a person for so long before he could be discharged for cause.

Meh, about 5 years ago, I worked in a shitty call centre and got caught dozing off on the job when I was supposed to be hassling Rogers customers who had overdue bills. I didn't get fired, just a write-up.

Hey, welcome to planet earth!. I havent met many people who dont do that. We love to pick apart other peoples flaws, especially when they're ones we're likely to do ourselves. Its how we humans feel better about ourselves, and superior to those around us. What would do with our spare time otherwise?

If you cut me off in traffic, youre a fucking asshole whose lucky I dont run you off the road. If I cut somebody off, hey relax man, its no big deal. My salary is a livelihood and I'm well compensated for my talent, but your salary is "labour cost" and you're "overpaid." See how easy and fun it is?

Seriously though I like this article. It points out there's more to anyones career then a single photo. It's well researched and well written.
