Why won't she leave us alone?

Saanich-Gulf Islands 2008
CON Gary Lunn 27,988
LIB Briony Penn 25,367
GRN Andrew Lewis 6,732

Owen Sound 2009
CON Larry Miller 22,974
GRN Dick Hibma 13,095
LIB Thom Noble 6,892

She might have a chance if the Libs are willing to not run in this riding but since they HAVE a chance here, I can't see that happening. Maybe if Dion was still in power.

The provincial Greens couldn't elect anyone in BC, yet she thinks an eastern carpet bagger will win?

I would not mind some greens elected. In some polls they have more votes than the Bloc (49 seats) yet they don't have one MP.

Isn't that a huge punch in the nose for our system.

And that's FPTP and so far, it's worked just fine for Canada.

If we had Israeli style elections, after the vote on October 14, 2008 between them the Libs, Dips and Greens would have had 51.2% of the vote and 51.2% of the seats, enough for a majority.

Just think:

PM - Dion
Deputy PM - Layton
Min of Finance - Rae
Min of the Environment - May

That's why I want to stick to FPTP.

FPTP is the electoral method...you can still have a coalition with it as our parliamentary system of government allows for it.

I do like the plurality system better, i agree with you, but it's due to the fact that it forces parties to broaden their bases, discourages fringe parties and avoids questionable swing parties in coalitions.

Wel she could all ways try to run in Calgary SW, I'm sure she'd stand a good chance of getting a seat there.

I know. I'm not complaining. I'm just saying that I would not mind to trade 5-6 Bloc seats for the Greens. At least the Greens want to govern.

Oh, i'm no fan of the Bloc, but it gets its plurality, so the Greens need to play the game.

Yes you can but given the public reaction to the Coalition of the Three Stooges last December I don't expect to see another coalition proposed any time soon.

By the time she's finished trotting around the country she'll claim to be "well traveled" just like Iggy.

She's like the crazy old aunt waiting for a relative to invite her to Christmas dinner.

Or a prorogation.
